volume group as a cluster volume group in the Serviceguard cluster configuration after creating
the cluster volume group in Disks and File Systems.
• Issue: An error occurs when a volume group is created using HP SMH.
Description: In the Disks and File Systems application, after filling the mandatory fields in the
Create Volume Group page, the following error message is displayed - Pvcreate :Bad
input parameter. This problem is currently noticed on HP-UX 11i v3 (11.31): FSWeb
B.11.31.13 and HP SMH 3.2.2.
Workaround: You can force create the VG by selecting the Force physical volume creation
option, and create the physical volumes without any validation.
• Issue: An error occurs when the operation Create Cluster VG in vPars 6.0 system with NPIV
LUN is performed.
Description: The operations, such as Create Cluster VG, Create VG, Extend VG, and Distribute
VG using the Disks and File Systems application fails with the following error message -
Internal Server Error for systems configured with vPars 6.0 having NPIV LUNs. This
error occurs because that the configuration does not support legacy DSFs.
Workaround: This problem currently does not have any known workaround. The problem is
planned to be resolved in a future release of HP SMH.
• Issue: kcalarm and kcusage does not report the correct value if the system is installed with
VxFS version 4.1.
Description: If the system is installed with VxFS version 4.1, kcalarm and kcusage does not
report the correct value for the tunable ninode. However, if the system has VxFS version 5.0
and later, kcalarm and kcusage reports the correct value.
Workaround: If the system is installed with VxFS version 4.1, install the patch PHKL_42533.
