New and changed information in this edition
The following sections list what is new for the HP SMH releases.
September 2010 release for HP-UX
HP SMH 3.2.1 for HP-UX 11i v3 includes product enhancements and fixes for internally found defects.
Following are the product enhancements:
• HP SMH on 11i v3 supports both Apache 2.0 and Apache 2.2. SMH can be configured to use either
Apache 2.0 or Apache 2.2.
NOTE: The minimum version of Apache required to be installed for facilitating Apache 2.2 support
with SMH is hpuxws22Apache B.2.2.8.08.
• Port 1188 is the default port used by Tomcat instance within SMH. This port can be configured to a
different value.
• A new configuration parameter TOMCAT_PORT is added in HP-UX 11i v3 to configure the port used
for Apache and Tomcat communication.
• A new parameter msgmbs is added in the hpsmh (1m) manpage for the kcusage, which specifies the
maximum allowable total combined size, in megabytes, of all the System V inter process communication
messages in the system at any point in time.
This information is available in English language only, Japanese and Simplified Chinese support will
be available in a later release.
• System Status and Overall System Summary tabs on the SMH Home page have been changed to
Overall System Health Status and Component Status Summary respectively.
HP SMH 3.1.2 for HP-UX 11i v2 includes fixes for the internally found defects.
March 2010 release for Linux and Windows
HP SMH 6.1.0 provides the provides the following functionalities over previous HP SMH Windows and
Linux releases:
• Added operating system support to include:
Windows 7 for x86 and x64•
• Windows 2008 R2 Server core
• Windows Vista SP2
• SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 11 for x86 and AMD64/EMT64T
• SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 10 SP2 or later for x86 and AMD64/EMT64T
• SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 9 SP4 for x86 and AMD64/EMT64T
• XEN 5.5 update 2
• The following open source products were revved:
Updated OpenSSL version to 0.9.81•
• Updated Namazu (Windows only) version to 2.0.20
NOTE: Corrected possible information disclosure may be used to obtain the version information of
the web server used by HP System Management Homepage.
• Support for Firefox web browser version 3 and 3.5.
