Specify whether this client will use UDP broadcasts to

connect to a server. When this box is marked with an x,

the client sends UDP broadcasts over the network to

locate a server connection instead of trying to connect

directly to a speciﬁc server. UDP broadcasts are

switched on (the default value). To change this setting,

click on the box.

Advanced

To supply additional values in place of the defaults

supplied by the Setup program, click on the Advanced

button at the bottom of the window. The Setup

program displays the Advanced Options window, which

contains advanced settings for Windows client

conﬁguration. Most users can use the default settings

for these parameters, so you probably do not need to

alter the settings in that dialog.

For more information about any of the conﬁguration parameters or

settings, click on Help.

Step 6. When you have completed the Conﬁguration window, click on OK. The

Setup program displays a message if you have not completed this screen

properly.

Step 7. At this point, the Setup program copies ﬁles from the speciﬁed source,

and installs them in the appropriate places. During this process, an

information bar displays what portionof the installation is complete. The

.DLL ﬁles are copied into the System or equivalent directory, and the

other ﬁles (the .EXE ﬁles and the SNA_LOG.MSG ﬁle, if they are present)

are copied into the destination directory you speciﬁed in Step 2. During

each ﬁle transfer operation, a record is written to the setup.log ﬁle,

which is created in the directory you speciﬁed. If any of the ﬁles to be

written over is “read only”, or any ﬁle cannot be copied for any other

reason, the new ﬁles are removed and you receive a message advising

you to look at the setup.log ﬁle.

Step 8. When the installation has successfully completed, the Finish window is

displayed. Select one of the following:
