Compatibility Information and Installation Requirements
The following sections list the hardware and software requirements for the SNAplus2 Link
product. For the hardware and software requirements for SNAplus2 User Applications, see
the HP-UX SNAplus2 Installation Guide, available at:

Hardware Requirements
SNAplus2 Link requires the following hardware:
18.9 MB of disk space
A physical link to the SNA remote system, such as a pair of compatible modems, a modem
eliminator, or a LAN connection.
A 2-port PCI card (J3525A) and available slot if using PCI SDLC.
Note that PCI SDLC is supported only on the following servers:
HP 9000 servers rp8400, rp7410, rp2400, rp5400, rp34x0, rp4440, rp7400, HP 9000
Superdome, and HP Integrity servers rx2600, rx4640, IPF Superdome, rx56xx,
rx8620, rx1600, rx1620, rx2620, rx7620, rx7640, and rx8640 servers.
Running SNAplus2 Link in a client/server environment requires additional LAN/9000 Link
hardware components for servers or workstations, including the LAN interface card.
Running SNAplus2 Link using QLLC requires X.25 (J3525A) hardware.
Running SNAplus2 Link using Token Ring (A5783A), 802.3/Ethernet, or FDDI(A3739B)
requires hardware for each link type.
Software Requirements
This version of SNAplus2 Link requires the HP-UX 11i v2 operating system.
Running SNAplus2 Link in a client/server environment requires additional LAN/9000 Link
software components for servers and workstations, including ARPA/Berkeley Sockets.
Running SNAplus2 Link using QLLC requires X.25 (J2793A) software.
Running SNAplus2 Link using Token Ring, 802.3/Ethernet, or FDDI requires software for
each link type.
