Compatibility Information and Installation Requirements

Running SNAplus2 Link in a client/server environment requires
additional LAN/9000 Link software components for servers and
workstations, including ARPA/Berkeley Sockets.
Running SNAplus2 Link using QLLC requires X.25 (J2793A) software.
Running SNAplus2 Link using 802.3/Ethernet requires software for each
Ethernet link type.
Optional
Running xsnapadmin, the configuration and management GUI, requires
the following:
• Motif interface software
• Bit-mapped display to run X11
SNAplus2 APPN End Node
The SNAplus2 APPN End Node requires the same hardware and
software as the SNAplus2 Link.
HP SNAplus2 APPN Enterprise Extender and NN
The HP SNAplus2 APPN Enterprise Extender and NN requires the
same hardware and software as the HP SNAplus2EE Link.
Installation Requirements
After you determine that you have the hardware and software required
for the SNAplus2 products you are installing, you can begin loading the
product files. Be sure to have a CD-ROM drive attached to your system to
read the product media. This drive should be configured on your system
with an entry in the /dev directory.
To load the product files into the appropriate directories on your system,
use the /usr/sbin/swinstall program. For specific instructions on
using swinstall, refer to the HP Software Distribution Utilities (SD)
User’s Guide.
To add the SNAplus2 Environment and Link components, run the SAM
SNAplus2 Installation Program on the SAM “Networking and
Communications” screen.
