HP-UX SNAplus2 R7 Installation Guide
Verifying the SAM SNAplus2 Installation Process
Verifying your Installation
Chapter 3 29
Verifying your Installation
Before you follow the steps in this chapter, check the following:
• If you are using a QLLC link, make sure that X.25 is installed and
configured into your system.
• If you are using a Token Ring, FDDI or Ethernet make sure that this
link type is installed and configured into your system.
• If you are configuring SDLC links, make sure that PSI cards are
installed (for PCI SDLC, you need a PCI card).
Under most circumstances, the kernel is generated automatically when
SNAplus2 installation is performed in SAM. If this does not happen,
check the following:
Step 1. Run /usr/sbin/swverify and investigate any errors.
Step 2. Use the /usr/sbin/swlist command to check that you have installed
all the SNAplus2 products.
Step 3. Save a copy of the system file you will be modifying (usually
/stand/system).
Step 4. Verify that the following statements are included in the system file
(default is /stand/system). Use the kmsystem command for each of the
drivers as follows:
kmsystem -q
driver_name
Verify that the “Configured” and “Loadable” flags are “Y” and “N”
respectively for each of the configured drivers.
