Before You Begin
This book introduces SNAplus2, a software product that enables a server running HP-UX to exchange information
with other nodes in a Systems Network Architecture (SNA) network.
SNAplus2 provides building blocks for a wide variety of networking needs and solutions. They can be used
to exchange information with nodes in SNA networks, Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
networks, and integrated SNA-TCP/IP networks.
This book applies to Release 7 of SNAplus2. Token Ring and FDDI adapters are not supported on HP-UX 11i v3.

compares SNA and TCP/IP protocols, with particular focus on the underlying transport technology of each.
• Chapter 2, Introducing SNAplus2, describes SNAplus2 packaging, features, and benefits.
• Chapter 3, SNAplus2 Networking Solutions, describes SNAplus2 business solutions for most networking needs,
and illustrates the solutions through a set of scenarios.
