3.5 Integrating an Existing TCP/IP Network
To further expand its services, Global Bank takes over a smaller bank that has an existing TCP/IP network. As a
result, the bank needs to integrate that TCP/IP network into Global Banks corporate network, as shown in Figure
35,

The SNAplus2 TN server functionality enables multiple TN3270 users to share a single link to the host. Existing
applications can run unchanged on the TCP/IP network, while the TN3270 product enables users to access cor-
porate 3270 applications over the existing TCP/IP network. Thus, the SNAplus2 TN server functionality (or TN
server functionality available on the host) enables SNA and TCP/IP applications to co-exist in the same network.
3.6 Integrating a Windows-Based PC Network
Global Bank acquires a subsidiary that has an existing Windows-based PC network. As a result, the Windows-based
PC network needs to be integrated into Global Banks corporate network.
