New and Changed Information in This Edition
Full-duplex APPC conversations are now supported, in addition to the half-duplex conversations supported by earlier
versions. In a full-duplex conversation, both TPs can send data at any time; neither TP is considered to be in control.
Full-duplex conversations are normally used when the data being sent in the two directions is independent, so that
the progress of the conversation does not depend on the data being transmitted.
APPC TPs may now send and receive SNA expedited data, in addition to the normal data sent using
[MC_]SEND_DATA and received using receive verbs. Expedited data is handled separately by the SNA network,
and may arrive at the destination before normal data.
SNAplus2 now supports Windows Client computers running the Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Server
2003 operating systems.
