Before You Begin
This book provides conguration and usage information for the SNAplus2 APPC Application Suite. It also explains
how to install the asuite.tps le, which is used to select and execute the correct partner program, by using the
snatpinstall program.
The applications described in this book consist of pairs of TPs (transaction programs) that run on an SNA network.
Each application uses independent Logical Unit (LU) 6.2 protocols to communicate with partner applications running
on other nodes in an SNA network. The applications can be accessed from a server or from a HP-UX or Windows

Organization of This Book
This book is organized as follows:
Chapter 1, APPC Application Suite for HP-UX Programs, provides an overview of APPC (Advanced Program-
to-Program Communication) Application Suite for SNAplus2 and explains how to congure your system to run
APPC applications.
Chapter 2, AFTP, describes the
AFTP application, provides conguration information, and explains how to
transfer les. It also lists and describes the subcommands you can use within the
AFTP shell.
Chapter 3, ACOPY, describes the
ACOPY application. It also provides conguration information and explains
the command options.
Chapter 4, ANAME, describes the
ANAME application, provides conguration information, and explains how to
add, remove, and view
ANAME database records. It also summarizes the supported
ANAME commands.
Chapter 5, APING, describes the
APING application, and summarizes the
APING parameters and options.
Chapter 6, AREXEC, describes the
AREXEC application, provides conguration information, and summarizes the
AREXEC parameters and options.
Chapter 7, ATELL, describes the
ATELL application, provides conguration information, and summarizes the
ATELL parameters and options.
