Chapter 2 51
Use the snaprjeconprogram to issue a command to the host to verify that
the host subsystem (usually JES) is active. Refer to your IBM
documentation for information about host commands. Refer to HP-UX
SNAplus2 RJE Users Guide for a list of relevant IBM manuals. For
example, in JES2, a $S command may be required to activate the printer
or punch.
The RJE Workstation Is Active and the Sessions Are Inactive
If the snaprjestat reports that the RJE workstation is active, but that
the sessions are not, then you need to activate one or more sessions. You
should check the following:
Step 1. Check that the link station that the LUs are using is active. Refer to
“Check Communication with Other SNA Nodes” for more information
about how to do this.
Step 2. Check that the workstation's configuration (specifying whether to issue
logon or wait for Binds from the host) matches the configuration at the
host.
Step 3. Check that the logon command specified in the RJE style file is correct
for the host that you are using. Set the
display_sscp_messages
parameter in the RJE style file to YES to enable you to examine error
messages generated when logging on to the host.
The RJE Workstation Is Inactive
If the snaprjestat indicates that the workstation is not running, issue
the following command to start the workstation:
snaprjestart
workstationname
(Replace
workstationname
with the name of your RJE workstation.)
If the workstation fails to start then look in the error log file. If the error
log indicates that the workstation has not been configured then configure
it. Refer to the HP-UX SNAplus2 Administration Guide for more
information about configuring RJE workstations.
RJE Cannot Receive Files
If RJE cannot receive files, do the following:
Step 1. Check that the RJE workstation has permission to write files for its user
ID. (The RJE workstation is a setuid program.)
