Chapter 118
Overview
SNAplus2 is a complex software product. You may therefore occasionally
encounter problems when you are running SNAplus2, either with
SNAplus2 itself, or with other system components.
This manual describes some of the more common types of problems that
you might encounter, provides guidance for investigating them, and
describes how to gather further diagnostic information. The manual is
structured in the following way:
This chapter introduces the types of diagnostic information that are
available to you, and describes how to use each type.
Chapter 2, “Resolving Common Problems,” describes the basic checks
that you should always perform, and provides step-by-step guidance
on how to investigate a specific problem further. Read this chapter if
you have encountered a problem and need to know how to investigate
it. Token Ring and FDDI adapters are not supported on HP-UX 11i v3.
Chapter 3, “Using Logging and Tracing,” describes how to use the
SNAplus2 tracing and logging facilities to gather further diagnostics
information. Read this chapter if you need guidance on how to gather
a particular type of trace or how to gather specific kinds of logs.
