3. Enterprise Extender (HPR/IP) Link Station Configuration
This dialog allows you to configure the characteristics of a link station to an
adjacent remote node in the SNA network. It is used when you are defining a
link station that uses Enterprise Extender (HPR/IP).
a. Name
This is a name for you to use to identify the link station locally.
b. SNA port name
Select the port that is to be used to access the remote node. By default,
SNAplus2 enters the name of the port selected in the connectivity pane. To see
a list of configured ports, click on
'SNA Port Name'. You can select a port from
this list to be the parent port for the link station you are adding
.
c. Activation
This indicates how and when the link station is to be activated. The possible
values are:
¾ By administrator
The link station is only activated on the request of a local system
administrator.
¾ On node Startup
The link station is started automatically when the node starts up.
¾ On demand
The link station is started automatically when there is a requirement to provide
connectivity for an application.
