Installation Information
This section contains information about installing the HP-UX MD5 Secure Checksum bundle.
Installing From Software Depot
Step 1. Download the MD5Checksum_B.11.11_A.01.00.00.depot file into the /tmp
directory.
Step 2. Verify correct download of the file using swlist. Note that swlist and swinstall
require you to specify the full path name to the source depot.
# swlist -d @ /tmp/MD5Checksum_B.11.11_A.01.00.00.depot
# Initializing...
# Contacting target "localhost"...
#
# Target:localhost:/tmp/MD5Checksum_B.11.11_A.01.00.00.depot
#
#
# Bundle(s):
#
MD5Checksum A.01.00.00 HP-UX MD5 Secure Checksum
Step 3. Run swinstall to install the product:
# swinstall -s /tmp/MD5Checksum_B.11.11_A.01.00.00.depot \*
Step 4. Verify that the MD5Checksum.MD5sum.MD5SUM-RUN fileset has been installed using
the following command:
# swlist -l fileset MD5Checksum.MD5sum.MD5SUM-RUN
# Initializing...
# Contacting target "localhost"...
#
# Target: localhost:/

When you install the HP-UX MD5 Secure Checksum bundle, the following will be included:
• The md5sum command
• The md5sum (1) man page
