The HP-UX MD5 Secure Checksum bundle consists of a secure checksum command (md5sum)
and hashing libraries that provide a file integrity mechanism based on the standard Message
Digest 5 (MD5) algorithm. The md5sum command generates 128-bit message digests and by
default runs in multi-threaded mode, in which it processes the input files in parallel.
The HP-UX MD5 Secure Checksum bundle is composed of the following two products:
•HP-UX MD5sum (md5sum checksum command)
• HP-UX LibCryptX (libcryptx libraries providing MD5 APIs)
