remquo(3M) remquo(3M)
NAME
remquo() - remainder function with quotient
SYNOPSIS
#include <math.h>
double remquo(ouble x, double y, int *quo);
DESCRIPTION
The remquo() function computes the same remainder as the remainder() function. In the object
pointed to by quo it stores a value whose sign is the sign of x/y and whose magnitude is congruent mod 2
n
to
the magnitude of the integral quotient of x/y, where n is an implementation-defined integer at least 3.
The ISO/ANSI C committee has approved the remquo() function for inclusion in the C9X draft standard.
To use this function, compile either with the default -Ae option or with the -Aa and -D_HPUX_SOURCE
options. Make sure your program includes <math.h>. Link in the math library by specifying -lm on the
compiler or linker command line.
RETURN VALUE
The remquo() function returns x REM y.
ERRORS
No errors are defined.
