isless(3M) isless(3M)
NAME
isless() - floating-point comparison macro (<)
SYNOPSIS
#include <math.h>
int isless(
floating-expr x, floating-expr y);
DESCRIPTION
The isless() macro determines whether its first argument is less than its second argument. The value
of isless(x,y) is always equal to (x)<(y); however, unlike (x)<(y), isless(x,y) does not
raise the invalid exception when x and y are unordered.
The macro can be used with either double or float arguments.
The ISO/ANSI C committee has approved the isless() macro for inclusion in the C9X draft standard.
To use the isless() macro, compile either with the default -Ae option or with the -Aa and
-D_HPUX_SOURCE options. Make sure your program includes <math.h>. Link in the math library by
specifying -lm on the compiler or linker command line.
RETURN VALUE
The isless() macro returns the value of (x)<(y).
ERRORS
No errors are defined.
