Red Hat Directory Server B.08.00.02 for HP-UX Release Notes and Supplemental Instructions
Admin console incorrectly displays the value of the attribute as set to 1. This is incorrect,
the default of these attributes is -1 (disabled).
• The Certificate Request Wizard returns an error when creating a certificate request
The Certificate Request Wizard returns the Unable to convert DN to certificate
name error when creating a certificate request.
Workaround
Use the certutil command-line utility to create a certificate request, or use the Certificate
Request Wizard with the following workaround:
1. In the Requestor Information dialog box, enter the attribute values for the subject
Distinguished Name (DN).
2. Select Show DN. The Wizard opens a window that displays the DN.
3. Remove the double quotes that enclose each attribute value.
4. Select Next to continue creating the certificate request.
NOTE: The attribute values cannot contain commas. The backend processor interprets a
comma in an attribute value as a delimiter for a new attribute.
• The Administration Console displays the error interpreter "/usr/dt/bin/dtksh"
not found.
Clicking a Help button in the Administration Console fails and the console displays the
error interpreter "/usr/dt/bin/dtksh" not found.
The Administration Console uses the Firefox web browser (or the Mozilla web browser, if
Firefox is not available from the user's search path) to display help text. The Firefox and
Mozilla web browsers attempt to display license text in a graphical window the first time
they start. This fails if the system does not have the Common Desktop Environment (CDE)
installed.
Workaround
Use one of the following workarounds:
— Install CDE.
— Force the web browser to display the license text in text mode before running the
Administration Console. You can do this by logging in as the user who will run the
console and starting the Firefox or Mozilla web browser from the shell in the foreground
so the browser displays the license in text mode. The default locations for the web
browsers are /opt/firefox/firefox and /opt/mozilla/mozilla.
You must perform this procedure once for each user running the Administration Console
and repeat it if you upgrade or reinstall the web browser.
• The Administration Server cannot run with the user ID root.
The value you enter for the System User in the setup-ds-admin.pl script dialog sets the
user ID for the Directory Server and the Administration Server. The Administration Server
cannot run if you configure root for the System User name. The Administration Server
runs as a component of the Apache server, and the HP-UX Apache-based Web Server does
not allow the Apache server to run with the user ID root.
The System User name in the setup-ds.pl script dialog is not affected by this restriction.
The setup-ds.pl script configures the user ID for the Directory Server and does not
configure an Administration Server. However, HP recommends that you do not run the
Directory Server with the user ID root.
Workaround
No workaround.
