If you do not see similar output, the Directory Server might not be running. Use the ps utility
to see if the daemons are running. For more information, see “Console Does Not Start” .
Console Does Not Start
If the Directory Server Console does not start, make sure the Directory Server daemon ns-slapd
and the Administration Server daemon ns-httpd are running. Use the following commands
to verify this information:
ps -ef | grep ns-slapd
ps -efx | grep "apache.*httpd.*admin-serv"
If these daemons are not running, restart them. For more information, see “Stopping and Restarting
the Directory Server” and “Stopping and Restarting the Administration Server”.
If the ns-httpd daemon is not running on an HP-UX 11i v1 system, verify that the Apache
NSPR library files are located in an alternate location. For more information, see “NSPR
Compatibility Problem on HP-UX 11i v1 Systems” (page 19).
Console Does Not Launch Help Documentation
If you click the Administration Server console Help buttons and the online help does not appear,
verify that you have a supported web browser installed. You must install either the Firefox or
Mozilla web browser to view online help. For more information, see “Console Online Help
Requirement” (page 21).
