Red Hat Directory Server B.08.00 for HP-UX Release Notes and Supplemental Instructions

Procedures for Resolving JRE Dependency
HP recommends that you use the following procedures to install Red Hat Directory Server 8.0
and resolve the JRE software dependency:
If a version of JRE 1.5 is installed on the system and the version is equal to or greater than
1.5.0.11, then you can skip the JRE installation requirement.
To check if the correct version of JRE 1.5 is installed on the system, use the following
command:
/usr/bin/swlist -l product | grep Java15JRE
If the JRE 1.5 version is earlier than 1.5.0.11, or if JRE 1.5 is not installed on the system, install
JRE 1.5.0.11 before or at the same time you install Red Hat Directory Server 8.0.
To download and install JRE 1.5, use the following procedure:
1. Go to the HP Java website:
http://www.hp.com/go/java
Search for Download License JRE version 5.0.11 HP Integrity or Download License
JRE version 5.0.11 HP PA-RISC according to your system architecture.
2. Complete the form and select Download.
3. Install the depot on your system.
Perl
Red Hat Directory Server 8.0 uses the Perl version installed with the operating system and
searches for it in the location /opt/perl_64/bin/perl. Install Perl from your HP-UX operating
system media if necessary.
Requirements for Specific Features
To use the following features with Red Hat Directory Server 8.0, you must install additional
software on your system:

Kerberos Authentication Requirement
You must install the KRB5CLIENT package to use Kerberos authentication and encryption
features.
The KRB5CLIENT version requirements are as follows:

HP-UX 11i v2: D.1.6.2 or later
HP-UX 11i v3: E.1.6.2 or later
You can install the KRB5CLIENT package from the HP Software Depot:

SNMP Subagent Requirement
OpenSSL must be installed for the SNMP subagent to function correctly. OpenSSL is delivered
with the OE for HP-UX 11i v2 releases after the initial release, and with all 11i v3 releases. If you
are using the initial HP-UX 11i v2 release, HP recommends that you update to a later release. If
you are using HP-UX 11i v1 or the initial HP-UX 11i v2 release, you can install OpenSSL as a
separate bundle from the HP Software Depot:
