Red Hat Directory Server B.08.00 for HP-UX Release Notes and Supplemental Instructions
Known Problems Fixed in Red Hat Directory Server 8.0
Red Hat Directory Server 8.0 corrects the following Red Hat Directory Server 7.1 problems:
• Existing entries in subfolders were not synchronized when Windows Sync was initiated.
The synchronization has been fixed so that the search scope is for the entire subtree, not just
one level.
• Windows Sync inappropriately synchronized existing hashed passwords with Windows
Active Directory, which processed the hashed password as a plain text password. This
problem has been fixed.
• The street attribute is multi-valued, but the corresponding streetAddress attribute in
Active Directory Server is single-valued. Synchronization with multiple street attribute
values fails on the Active Directory Server. This has been fixed in Red Hat Directory Server
8.0 so that only the first street value is synchronized.
• The default equality index for the nsds5ReplConflict attribute did not return information
about the attribute in a search. The fix is to add a default presence index.
• If an entry had a null attribute indexed in a VLV index, the Directory Server crashed when
that entry was modified. This problem has been fixed.
• Synchronization performance between Red Hat Directory Server and Active Directory is
significantly degraded if the Directory Server has is a large backlog of tombstone entries.
This problem has been fixed.
• Synchronization failed when an initials attribute in an entry had too many characters.
In Red Hat Directory Server 8.0, the initials attribute is truncated to six characters when
it is synchronized.
• If you deleted a synchronized entry from the Directory Server then added it to a different
part of the directory tree, the resurrected entry was deleted from both the Red Hat Directory
Server and Active Directory. This has been fixed.
• When the Directory Server shut down, the active browsing index was interrupted and the
file was corrupted. Attempting to delete the index or to recreate the index failed. This problem
has been fixed.
• When an LDAP Data Interchange Format (LDIF) file containing an entry with the Relative
Distinguished Name (RDN) that ended in a double back-slash (\\) was imported, the
Directory Server may crash. This has been fixed.
• The modifiersname variable was always set to cn=server, cn=plugins, cn=config
regardless of which user changed the password. This problem has been fixed.
• The Directory Server could crash when it processed a malformed member URL for dynamic
groups. This defect has been fixed.
• The Directory Server crashed if you provided the nsslapd-listenhost attribute with
the host name having a value associated with multiple addresses. This problem has been
fixed.
• In the previous releases of the Directory Server, you could create a Directory Server instance
with a period, such as an instance with the server ID slapd-rhds71.org. However,
attempts to view logs in the Directory Console and to remove the Directory Server instance
failed.
Red Hat Directory Server 8.0 does not allow you to create a Directory Server instance with
a period in the server ID.
