Getting Help Support for HP-MPI for Windows may be ordered for HP systems. Customers must have a valid license and support contract to get support. Service will be provided by the HP Response Center.
Requirements for HP-MPI V1.0 for Windows HP-MPI for V1.0 for Windows is supported on servers and workstations running Windows Compute Cluster Pack (CCP). HP-MPI 1.0 for Windows is supported on the following hardware running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Compute Cluster Edition: • HP Cluster Platform 3000, and 4000 • HP ProLiant BL20p, BL25p, BL30p, BL35p, DL140, DL145, DL360, DL380, DL385, DL460C, DL480C, and DL585 NOTE HP-MPI strives to be compiler neutral. HP-MPI 1.
calling convention is C by reference. HP-MPI does not support the Compaq Visual Fortran (CVF) default calling convention. HP-MPI V1.0 for Windows must be installed by an Administrator, or a user with Administrator privileges.
Licensing Policy Licenses can be purchased from HP’s software depot at http://www..hp.com/go/softwaredepot, or contact your HP representative. Demo licenses for HP-MPI are also available from HP’s software depot. Licensing HP-MPI 1.0 for Windows uses FLEXlm licensing technology. A license file can be named either as license.dat or any file name with an extension of .lic.
%MPI_ROOT%\bin\licensing\\lmutil lmhostid The hostname can be obtained using the control panel by following Control Panel -> System -> Computer Name tab. The default search path used to find an MPI license file is: "%MPI_ROOT%\licenses:.". If the license needs to be placed in another location which would not be found by the above search, the user may set the environment variable LM_LICENSE_FILE to explicitly specify the location of the license file. For more information, see http://licensing.hp.com.
License Testing Build and run the hello_world program in %MPI_ROOT%\help\hello_world.c to check for a license.
Installation Instructions HP-MPI must be installed on all nodes which will be used to launch or run jobs. The installation directory used must be the same on all nodes. To install HP-MPI, log in as Administrator or a user in the Administrator group and follow the instructions for either an interactive or command line installation below. Standard Interactive Installation Double-click Setup HP-MPI-1.0-20060725.exe and follow the on-screen prompts to install the product.
The installer will assume the default values for the installation directory and program group, unless you override them by specifying additional command line parameters. To override the install directory, specify the /DIR=x:\dirname parameter. To override the program group, specify the /GROUP=group name parameter. To easily install HP-MPI on all nodes in the cluster, log in as administrator and use the clusrun command with the '/verysilent' flag to execute the install package.
