Purpose This subprogram computes the numeric factorization of the sparse symmetric
matrix input to the package. No condition number estimation is performed.
NOTE Matrix structure input by matrix supports five data types. Matrix structure
input by elements, columns, and finite elements supports only REAL*8
precision.
