Obtaining standard HP-UX patch bundles
The following options are available for obtaining patch bundles:
• Option 1: HP-UX Software Assistant
The SWA Tool is the preferred option for obtaining standard HP-UX patch bundles. See
Chapter 8: “Using HP-UX Software Assistant for patch management” (page 88) for more
information.
• Option 2: HPSC
You can obtain the standard HP-UX patch bundles from the HPSC. Access requires you have
an HPSC login. Follow the online instructions to register with the HPSC, or see Chapter 6:
“Using the HP Support Center” (page 57) for more information.
• Option 3: Software Depot
You can access the HP Software Depot home website directly at http://www.hp.com/go/
softwaredepot.See Chapter 7: “Using software depots for patch management” (page 66).
TIP: Acquiring and installing standard HP-UX patch bundles is a two-step process. See Chapter 2:
“Quick start guide for patching HP-UX systems” (page 9).
