STM Release Notes for HP-UX 11i v3 August 2010 Release

When both STM and the EMS HW Monitors are not shutdown, and the local_only file is created, IPC

messages timeout and fail. This will result in the following problems:

1. Tools will not start from the UI

2. Monitors will not be able to send events to PSM, so the state of the devices will not be updated and set_fixed

will not be able to display or update the state of devices.

Symptom: Error in swm.log while upgrading to OnlineDiag.

Problem: While upgrading from any of the prior versions of OnlineDiag to B.11.31.10.yy on HP 9000 systems,

the following error may occur in swm.log:

NOTE: Command output:

- awk: Error occurred while writing.

The input line number is 2.

The source line number is 1.

Workaround: You can safely ignore this message.

Obsolescence

NOTE: Starting with HP-UX 11i v3 March 2009 release, OnlineDiag (including STM) will be in support mode.

Moving forward, no new enhancements will be made to OnlineDiag (including STM). Only Critical / Serious defects
