STM Release Notes for HP-UX 11i v3 August 2010 Release

Defect Fixes
This section describes the defect fixes and changes made to STM for the current release.
The following information applies to both Itanium Processor Family (IPF) and PA-RISC systems:
QXCR1001025586
Problem: Missing events in client configuration file of dm_raid_adapter monitor
Problem Description: Events numbering 52 and above are not being logged by the dm_raid_adapter monitor.
Resolution: Support for all existing events has been added to the monitor.
QXCR1001025493
Problem: The disk_em monitors reports incorrect events for errors of ESCSI_LOG_ERR type.
Problem Description: The disk_em is not designed to decode ESCSI_LOG_ERR, as ESCSI_LOG_ERR is
related to Asterope events for LUN path H/W path. The disk_em monitors are at the hardware level and not path
level. Therefore, the OnlineDiag does not support these events.
Resolution: The issue is fixed by checking, if the buffer is of type ESCI_LOG_ERR. If the type is same as
ESCI_LOG_ERR, then do not decode further.
The following information applies only to Itanium-based systems:
QXCR1001050044
Problem: The disk_em process crashes when there is memory corruption in the tlscsidev library.
Problem Description: When a Lun has more than 4 lunpaths configured the io_get_mapping() method may
return an error status which is not checked and neither is the io_errno value checked. Without considering this, a
lesser amount of memory was allocated which led to SIGSEGV.
Resolution: This issue is fixed.
The following information applies only to PA_RISC systems:
QXCR1001052342
Problem: The disk_em process restating due to memory corruption.
Problem Description: The disk_em process is restarting due to memory corruption while filtering unsupported
paths in the target system. When memory for paths to be filtered is allocated based on the total paths to be
monitored (which is less than the paths to be filtered), there is memory corruption.
Resolution: This problem is fixed by allocating based on the number of entries in uut_status file.
