Known Problems
Following is the known problems and workarounds for the HP-UX 11i v2 December 2009 release:
Known Problem:
Starting with HP-UX 11i v2 May 2005 release of Online Diagnostics, the format of the contents in the System
Activity Log file is enhanced. As a result, the System Activity Log file from an earlier release of Online
Diagnostics may not be supported.
Workaround:
Remove the unformatted System Activity Log files from the /var/stm/logs/sys/ directory. The System
Activity Log files are created dynamically during the next system activity in the upgraded environment.
Symptom: System port scan software can cause diagmond process to exit.
Problem: The port which diagmond uses should be explicitly used for diagmond. If other applications try to
access this port, the diagmond process exits.
Workaround:
* set the parameter of LOCAL_ONLY_ENABLE in
the /var/stm/config/sys/diagmond.cfg file.
// Uncomment " LOCAL_ONLY_ENABLE 1 "
# Indicates whether remote systems are allowed to connect to the
# unit under test. If this flag is set to 1, only connections from
# UIs running on the unit under test will be accepted. All others
# will be ignored.
LOCAL_ONLY_ENABLE 1
Restart diagnostics by entering the following command:
# /sbin/init.d/diagnostic stop;sleep 10;/sbin/init.d/diagnostic start
