Release Notes for STM on HP-UX 11i v1 (February 2011)

Problem Description: When there is less memory in the machine, upon running cstm, it kills

all the processes. This is due to fork() call failed with ENOMEM and cstm called kill with wrong

value of pid(-1). This caused it to kill all the processes.

Resolution: This issue is fixed.

Problem: Memlogd daemon gets aborted.

Problem Description: Memlogd daemon gets aborted and the following message is logged:

The routine std_get_pdt_hdr was attempting to retrieve the Page Deallocation Table header when an

unexpected error occurred. The status returned is 2062270848 and the PDC status is

18446744073709551613.

Possible Cause(s)/Recommended Action(s):

Internal application error

Resolution: This issue is fixed.

Known Problem and Workaround

Symptom: System port scan software can cause diagmond process to exit.

Problem: The port which diagmond uses should be explicitly used for diagmond. If other applications

try to access this port, the diagmond process exits.

Workaround:

* set the parameter of LOCAL_ONLY_ENABLE in

the /var/stm/config/sys/diagmond.cfg file.

// Uncomment " LOCAL_ONLY_ENABLE 1 "

# Indicates whether remote systems are allowed to connect to the

# unit under test. If this flag is set to 1, only connections from

# UIs running on the unit under test will be accepted. All others

# will be ignored.

LOCAL_ONLY_ENABLE 1

Restart diagnostics by entering the following command:

# /sbin/init.d/diagnostic stop;sleep 10;/sbin/init.d/diagnostic start
