Release Notes for STM on HP-UX 11i v1 (April 2012)

Defect Fix
The following defect was fixed for the current release:
• QXCR1001098323
Problem: rp4440 systems were reporting ia64_corehw event #104011 "Power Unit :
Redundancy lost or not present." These are incorrect messages as no hardware fault exist on
any of the servers.
Problem Description: The ia64_corehw monitor when making a GET_SENSOR_READING
IPMI call on sensor 0xCF is returning reading of 0x02. This is resulting in generating reminder
events of event #104011 (redundancy in power), although there seems to be no problem in
the power units.
Resolution: The systems should always be reported with correct messages. Ignore the "0xcf"
sensor when polling.
• QXCR1001194925
Problem: STM license fails to install on HP-UX 11i v1.
Problem Description: The STM license fails to install on HP-UX 11i v1 after December 2011.
This is due to a hard coded expiry date which is set to December 2011.
Resolution: The expiry date has been updated to December 2016.
Known Problem and Workaround
Symptom: System port scan software can cause diagmond process to exit.
Problem: The port which diagmond uses should be explicitly used for diagmond. If other applications
try to access this port, the diagmond process exits.
Workaround:
* set the parameter of LOCAL_ONLY_ENABLE in
the /var/stm/config/sys/diagmond.cfg file.
// Uncomment " LOCAL_ONLY_ENABLE 1 "
# Indicates whether remote systems are allowed to connect to the
# unit under test. If this flag is set to 1, only connections from
# UIs running on the unit under test will be accepted. All others
# will be ignored.
LOCAL_ONLY_ENABLE 1
Restart diagnostics by entering the following command:
# /sbin/init.d/diagnostic stop;sleep 10;/sbin/init.d/diagnostic start
