event detection
An event-tracking method that enables a monitor to detect an event when it occurs, usually during
an I/O to the device.

cstm An STM command to view the command-line interface.

Monitors
Daemons that proactively monitor hardware devices, such as CPU, memory, and hard disks.
Event Monitoring
Service
A framework that supports hardware monitoring.

Failure Log A file that contains the details of a support tool test failure.
filtering A process of modifying the system log file settings.
formatting A process of improving the readability of a system log file.

A configuration file that includes settings common to all the monitors.

Manager
