Overview
Included in the EIT bundle are the Console Logger, IPMI Log Acquirer and IPMI Event Viewer -
important tools that work together to collect, interpret and display system event messages. Console
Logger captures the commands typed at the console, the response displayed, and an alert message
generated by the system, and places them on the Support Management Station in a continuous log
format. The IPMI Log Acquirer acquires FPL and FRUID logs from the remote system. The IPMI
Event Viewer analyzes the FPL logs captured by IPMI Log Acquirer and displays the system event
information through either a command line or web-based interface.
The EIT suite is available to users running "hp Integrity SuperDome SMS" workstations (Windows
2000, Windows XP and HP-UX 11.00, HP-UX 11.11 and HP-UX 11.23 platforms.)
Configuring EIT
Once the EIT software is installed, Console Logger and IPMI Log Acquirer tools run as a service on
Windows and as a daemon on HP-UX and will start automatically after installation.
