1 New and Changed Features
The HP-UX Programming Tools includes the HP Distributed Debugging
Environment (HP DDE) 4.23. This tool runs under the 11.
x
release of
HP-UX on HP 9000 systems, operating on code generated by HP-UX 11.
x
compilers.
NOTE HP DDE 4.23 will not operate on versions of HP-UX prior to 11.0.
Additionally, HP DDE is no longer being enhanced. To ensure support for
the latest HP-UX and compiler features, use the HP WDB debugger. For
details about HP WDB, refer to your compiler’s release notes or check the
HP site on the World Wide Web at http://www.hp.com/go/wdb/.
Changes to Programming Tools
HP PAK No Longer Shipped
Beginning with the June 2000 release of the Hewlett-Packard C and C++
compilers, the HP Programmer’s Analysis Kit (HP PAK) will no longer be
bundled with the compilers. Customers on HP-UX Version 11.x are
encouraged to use the HP CXperf performance analyzer to help improve
the performance of their applications. For more information on HP
CXperf, refer to the HP World Wide Web site,
http://www.hp.com/go/CXperf/ or contact your HP sales representative.
NOTE Customers who have earlier versions of HP PAK should be aware that
Hewlett-Packard will not be making enhancements or performing
additional maintenance on this tool.
