Each Virtual Connect Domain Group – each VCDG will have its own default portability
group.
Until now, user-defined portability groups only allowed you to select a subset of targets found in any
single default portability group. Insight Dynamics 6.1 introduced the ability for you to create user-
defined portability groups that extend the portability of a Logical Server to unlike underlining
technologies. Specifically, ID introduces the ability to move between servers with Virtual Connect
and VMware ESX virtual machines.
User defined portability groups are defined by selecting Modify -> Logical Server Portability
Groups … in Virtualization Manager.
If the administrator has selected one or more targets in Virtualization Manager, these are then
presented as potential targets. Otherwise, all resources are presented.
