v
vparresources2(5) vparresources2(5)
(For OA Based Partition Management Systems)
Table III.n. Tasks: -d cpu::num
-d core::num
Explanation For vPars that are DOWN, deletes num non-SLPs
from the vPar.
For vPars that are UP, deletes num CPU-Cores from
the vPar, which can potentially delete user
specified and socket specific CPU-Cores also.
Value num: A positive integer
Usage o This option is allowed only in the vparmodify
Restrictions command
o For vPars that are DOWN, the vPar must be
assigned at least num non-SLP,
non-user-specified CPUs
o For vPars that are UP, the vPar must be
assigned at least num+1 CPU-Cores
o The new total number of CPUs >= min
Table III.o. Tasks: -d cpu::cpu_path
-d core::core_path
Explanation Releases the path binding of a CPU or a core at the
specified resource path, or deletes the CPU or core
from the vPar. The deletion reduces the number of
total CPUs assigned to the vPar.
Value cpu_path: enclosure#/blade#/cpusocket#/cpucore#
core_path: enclosure#/blade#/cpusocket#/cpucore#
Usage o This option is allowed only in the vparmodify
Restrictions command
o For vPars that are DOWN, the CPU must have
been previously assigned by path to the vPar
using either the -a cpu:cpu_path
or the -a core:core_path option
o The new total number of CPUs >= min
Table III.p. Task: -d socket:socket_id :cpu::num
Explanation For vPars that are DOWN, deletes num SLPs
on socket socket_id from the vPar.
For vPars that are UP, deletes num CPU-Cores on
socket socket_id from the vPar which can
potentially delete user assigned and system
assigned CPU-Cores also from that socket.
Values socket_id: enclosure#/blade#/cpusocket#
num: A positive integer
Usage o This option is allowed only in the vparmodify
Restrictions command
o socket_id must exist in the configuration
o num CPUs from socket_id must currently be
assigned to the vPar
o The new total number of CPUs >= min
