(For OA Based Partition Management Systems)
Table III.g. Task: -a mem::ilm_size
Explanation Specifies the increase, in megabytes rounded upward
to the next ILM granule multiple, in vPar. This
memory is taken from unspecified ranges of
unassigned ILM when the vPar boots.
Values lim_size: A positive 64-bit integer <=
(0x100000000000 - ILM granularity)
Usage o The memory must physically exist and be available
Restrictions after the memory requirements of all other
virtual partitions have been satisfied
Table III.h. Task: -a socket:socket_id :
mem::size
Explanation Specifies the increase, in megabytes rounded upward
to the next SLM granule multiple, in the total
amount of SLM to be allocated to the vPar. This
memory is taken from unspecified ranges of
unassigned SLM on socket_id when the vPar boots.
Values socket_id: enclosure#/blade#/cpusocket#
size: A positive 64-bit integer <=
(0x100000000000 - SLM granularity)
Usage o Both the socket and memory must physically exist
Restrictions and be available after the memory requirements of
all other virtual partitions have been satisfied
Table III.i. Tasks: -m cpu::num
-m core::num
Explanation Sets the total number of non-SLPs to num.
Value num: A positive integer
Usage o This option is allowed only in the vparmodify
Restrictions command
o num must be between min and max
o num active CPUs must exist in the nPartition
o They must be available (not assigned to any vPar)
Table III.j. Tasks: -m cpu:::[min][ :[max]]
-m core:::[min][ :[max]]
Explanation Specifies the minimum and maximum number of CPUs
allowed for the vPar. This operation does not
allocate any CPUs, but specifies the limits of other
allocation tasks.
You can change only min or max by not specifying the
other field.
Value If specified, min and max must be positive integers
such that min <= total CPUs <= max.
Usage
Restrictions
o min cannot exceed the total number of CPUs
o max cannot be less than the total
