(For OA Based Partition Management Systems)
Table III.c. Tasks: -a cpu:::[min][
:[max]]
-a core:::[min][ :[max]]
Explanation Specifies the minimum and maximum number of CPU-
cores allowed for the target vPar. This operation
does not allocate any CPU-cores, but specifies the
limits of other allocation tasks.
Both min and max are optional. The default min is
set to 0. The default max is the total number of
active CPU-cores in the underlying nPartition.
Value If specified, min and max must be positive integers
such that min <= total CPU-cores <= max.
Usage o This option is allowed only in the vparcreate
Restrictions command
o min cannot exceed the total number of CPU-cores
currently assigned to target vPar
o max cannot be less the total number of CPU-cores
currently assigned to target vPar
Table III.d. Tasks: -a socket:socket_id :cpu ::num
-a socket:socket_id :core ::num
Explanation Adds num SLPs from socket socket_id to the vPar’s
configuration.
Values socket_id: enclosure#/blade#/cpusocket
Usage o socket_id must exist in the configuration
Restrictions o num SLPs must exist on the socket
o num SLPs must be available (not assigned to any
vPar)
Table III.e. Task: -a io:io_path
Explanation Assigns an I/O resource at a specific path to the
vPar’s configuration.
Value io_path (Blade):
enclosure#/blade#/IO_hub#/root_complex#/root_port#
io_path (I/O Bay):
enclosure#/IO_bay#/IO_hub#/root_complex#/root_port#
Usage o An I/O resource must exist at path
Restrictions o The I/O resource at path must be available (not
assigned to any vPar)
Table III.f. Task: -a ioslot:ioslot_path
Explanation Assigns an I/O resource at a specific path to the
vPar’s configuration.
Value ioslot_path : enclosure#/blade#/io_slot#
Usage o An I/O resource must exist at path
Restrictions o The I/O resource at path must be available (not
assigned to any vPar)
