Display With -v Option
If you specify the -v option, vgdisplay
lists the following additional information for each logical
volume, for each physical volume, and for each physical volume group in the volume group:
--- Logical volumes ---
Information about logical volumes belonging to vg_name :
LV Name The block device path name of a logical volume in the volume group.
LV Status State of the logical volume:
available/stale
Logical volume available but contains physical extents that are
not current.
available/syncd
Logical volume available with no stale extents.
available/inactive
Logical volume available but opening of the logical volume is
disabled since the volume group is activated using
-l option of
the
vgchange command (see vgchange (1M)).
unavailable
Logical volume is not available for use.
LV Size (Megabytes) Size of the logical volume.
Current LE Number of logical extents in the logical volume.
Allocated PE Number of physical extents used by the logical volume.
Used PV Number of physical volumes used by the logical volume.
--- Snapshot logical volumes ---
Note that this information is displayed for volume group version 2.2 or higher only if snapshots
exist. See lvm(7) for more information about snapshot logical volumes.
Information about snapshot logical volumes belonging to vg_name :
LV Name The block device path name of a snap logical volume in the volume
group.
LV Status State of the logical volume:
available/stale
Logical volume available but contains physical extents that are
not current.
available/syncd
Logical volume available with no stale extents.
available/inactive
Logical volume available but opening of the logical volume is
disabled since the volume group is activated using -l option of
the vgchange command (see vgchange (1M)).

Logical volume is not available for use.
Type of snapshot logical volume. Note that these states are displayed
only for snapshot logical volumes.
snapshot, space efficient
Logical volume is a space efcient snapshot.
snapshot, fully allocated
Logical volume is a fully allocated snapshot.
Snapshot Status State of the snapshot logical volume. Note that this field is only
displayed for snapshot logical volume.
operative
Logical volume is operative.
