NAME
vgcdsf - a LVM tool to convert persistent DSFs in a volume group to their corresponding cluster DSFs and
vice versa
SYNOPSIS
/usr/sbin/vgcdsf
[-r] vgname
Remarks
The
vgcdsf tool requires that Serviceguard A.11.20 be installed and is patched to support cluster-wide
device special files (cDSFs). See the latest version of the HP Serviceguard A.11.20 Release Notes for more
information on cDSF support.
DESCRIPTION
The
vgcdsf tool converts all the persistent DSFs in the given VG to their corresponding cluster DSFs.
You can use the -r
option to convert cluster DSFs back to persistent DSFs for the specified volume group.
When invoked without any option or volume group, this command lists the command usage.
If a VG has only legacy DSFs, this command prints a message asking the user to run the
vgdsf script
first to convert from legacy to persistent DSFs.
If a VG contains a mix of legacy and persistent DSFs, this command converts the persistent DSFs to
corresponding cluster DSFs.
For information on the
vgdsf script, refer to the LVM Migration from Legacy to Agile Naming Model
whitepaper on http://www.hp.com/go/hpux-core-docs
.
Options and Arguments
The
vgcdsf command recognizes the following options and arguments:
vgname Volume Group name in which the peristent DSFs need to be converted to cluster
DSFs or vice versa.
-r Converts the cluster DSFs in the volume group to persistent DSFs. Without the
-r
