Admin Service:
The admin service configures administrative properties for the container that are performed in the
global system.
admin_user=user_name[,user_name]...
Comma separated list of existing HP-UX user names to be granted the corresponding adminis-
trator role for the container. Default: root
Cmpt Service:
The cmpt service represents a container’s compartments(5) configuration and is required when ini-
tially provisioning a container with srp.
export_copy_dirs=pathname,pathname
Workload template only: directories that will be copied into the exchange file as part of the
export operation. Default: /var/hpsrp/ContainerName
ok_export_dirs=yes no
Indicates whether files and directories under the container’s root directory
(/var/hpsrp/ContainerName) should be saved in the exchange file when the container is
exported. Default: yes
Init Service:
The init service manages the container’s local filesystem, devices, and services configuration. The
service is required when initially provisioning a container with srp.
Notes about the import operation for the init service:
• When a system container is imported its’ local devices are re-created using the devices in the glo-
bal system’s /etc/opt/hpsrp/srpdevices.def file.
• When a container is imported it’s /etc/fstab file is moved to /etc/fstab.orig and a new default
file is provided. If the container name has changed or the container has moved to a new system,
then entries in fstab.orig will need to be copied to the new fstab file and changed as appropri-
ate. The device special file may need to be changed because the container’s devices have
changed, or entire fstab entries may need to be added or removed to match the needs of users
and administrators in the new container.
The configurable init service variables are:
autostart=yes no
Indicate whether the container should be started at system start time. Default: yes
change_password=yes no
Indicate whether the container’s root user password should be changed, when the container is
being modified using replace option. Default: no
configure_dns=yes no
Indicate whether the
DNS resolver (see resolver (4)) should be configured. Default: yes
delete_files_ok=yes no
Indicate whether to delete files and directories used by the container when the container is
deleted or replaced. Default: no
device_list=pathname
Path name of a file containing a list of devices to be provisioned in a container. Default:
/etc/opt/hpsrp/srpdevices.def
device=device_file[,device_file]...
A comma separated list of device files that should be added, replaced, or deleted for the con-
tainer. The device variable must be specified with srp’s -tune option. Default: none
dns_server_ip=ip_address[,ip_address]...
A comma separated list of
IP addresses of DNS servers. Default: from global resolv.conf file.
domain_name=dns_domain_name
DNS administrative domain to which this container belongs. Default: from global
/etc/resolv.conf file.
provision_fs=yes no
Reprovision the container’s files and directories if the container directory already exists. Default:
