Variable Names for the pcnfsd Subsystem
The setoncenv command recognizes the following configuration variable names for the pcnfsd subsys-
tem:
port [number]
The port number rpc.pcnfsd should use for listening for incoming requests.
printer [option_string
]
Defines a virtual printer for
pcnfsd
clients. You can specify multiple virtual printers.
When using the
-r option, just specifying printer
will remove all entries. Using
printer option_string will remove that entry only.
spooldir [path]
Specifies the parent spool directory for use by
pcnfsd clients. The default value is
/var/spool/pcnfs.
uidrange [option_string
]
Limits which users have permission to send authentication or print requests to
pcnfsd.
You can specify multiple
uidrange entries. When using the
-r option, just specifying
uidrange will remove all entries. Using uidrange
option_string will remove that
entry only.
wtmp [option_string]
Enables and disables /var/adm/wtmps logging for
pcnfsd authentication requests. By
default, logging is enabled. Logging is only disabled when option_string is
off, no,
disable,or0.
Variable Names for the rpcbind Subsystem
The
setoncenv command recognizes the following configuration variable names for the rpcbind sub-
system:
NFS_CORE [0 | 1]
Used to enable or disable the rpcbind service by /sbin/init.d/nfs.core
. Can
either be 0 to disable or 1 to enable the service.
This variable will be obsolete in a future release.
RPCBIND_OPTIONS
The run time arguments for the rpcbind daemon used by
/sbin/init.d/nfs.core
.
This variable will be obsolete in a future release.
COMMAND_START_DAEMON
[0 | 1]
Used to enable or disable the functionality that allows the NFS commands to start sub-
system daemons required for the NFS subsystem to work properly. If this variable is
enabled, the NFS subsystem start and stop scripts will no longer start the NFS daemons.
The daemons will only be started if one of NFS subsystem commands is run. For exam-
ple, if a file system is shared using the
share command, the NFS daemons,
rpc.statd, rpc.lockd, nfsmapid, rpc.mountd, and nfsd will be started if not
already running. If an NFS file system is mounted, the NFS mount command will start
the NFS daemons, rpc.statd, rpc.lockd, and if it is an NFSv4 mount, nfsmapid,
and nfs4cbd will be started if not already running.
Tunable Variable Names for the Kernel Lock Manager, Kernel RPC, and NFS Subsystems
The
setoncenv command recognizes the kernel tunable variable names which are described in the
Managing NFS and KRPC Kernel Configurations in HP-UX 11i v3 whitepaper which is available at
http://www.hp.com/go/hpux-networking-docs
.
