parstatus2.1 (2011 03)

p
parstatus(1)
For OA Based Partition Management Systems
parstatus(1)
(Deconfigured ). The resource has been deconfigured due to problems detected.
Deconfigured resources are not allowed to be activated.
The problems detected need to be addressed in order to use the resource during poweron.
D
(Parent Deconfigured ). A resource above in the hierarchy (parent resource) has been
deconfigured. The same issues for a D (Deconfigured ) resource apply.
PD
(Indicted ). A resource that is indicted has experienced a transient or correctable error
and in some cases may be operating with degraded capabilities or performance. The
resource should be examined to prevent further issues from impairing usage.
I
(Parent Indicted ). A resource above in the hierarchy (parent resource) has been
indicted.
PI
Superuser permission is required to run this command from the partition side. Any OA user having user
privilege level or above can execute this command.
Please refer to the HP Superdome 2 Partitioning Administrator Guide for a description of the partition
management terms used in this man page.
Options and Arguments
parstatus recognizes the following command line options and arguments:
-c blade_path Shows information about the specified blade. blade_path specifies the blade
resource path. It can be specified in short, medium, or long format. For example,
the blade located in enclosure 1, slot 3 is identified in the short format as 1/3, in the
medium format as blade-1/3, or in the long format as enclosure1/blade3.
-e enclosure_path Shows information about the specified enclosure. enclosure_path specifies the
enclosure resource path. It can be specified in short, medium, or long format. For
example, enclosure 7 can be specified in the short format as 7, in the medium for-
mat as enclosure-7, or in the long format as enclosure7.
-i iobay_path Shows information about the specified I/O bay. iobay_path specifies the I/O bay
resource path. It can be specified in short, medium, or long format. For example,
I/O bay 1 with enclosure 7 can be specified in the short format as 7/1, in the medium
format as iobay-7/1, or in the long format as enclosure7/iobay1.
-p npar_id Shows information about the specified nPartition. part_id can be specified either as
a number or name.
Shows resource tree of the specified nPartition when it is used in conjunction with
the
-t option.
Shows all virtual partitions associated with the specified nPartition when it is used
in conjunction with the
-v option.
Shows the contents of the current partition specification when it is used in conjunc-
tion with the
-Z option.
-r Shows the revisions of partition management tools.
-s Indicates if the command is being executed on a hardware partitionable platform.
When this option is specified, the command will either succeed or fail (see RETURN
VALUE below) and nothing will be displayed on stdout or stderr.
Note: This option is not supported when the command is invoked from the OA.
-t Displays the physical locations and resource paths of resources belonging to the
specified nPartition as a tree.
-v Displays the virtual partition names associated with an nPartition.
Note: This option is always available even if the specified nPartition is down.
-z [-P | -p npar_id | -V]
Shows current partition specification (parspec) name associated with an nPartition.
When -z is used without -p or -P, it lists all parspecs, both current and alternate.
