Platform Support Remarks
This
parstatus describes functionality on systems with Onboard Administrator (OA) based parti-
tion management. For parstatus on systems not running OA based partition management,
refer to parstatus1 (1M) by typing man parstatus1.
DESCRIPTION
Note :
parstatus output is limited to 80 columns, and as a result, a few fields may get truncated. Use
the verbose option in such cases to view the detailed information.
The
parstatus command displays information about a system complex. If no arguments are supplied,
all major components that are physically present in the system complex are listed. A specific component
(blade, I/O bay, enclosure, or nPartition) may be specified in order to restrict the output to information
about that component.
When displaying nPartition related information,
parstatus includes the following:
The number and name of the nPartition.
The state and run-state of the nPartition. The state is either active or inactive. An inactive nPartition
will be able to boot up as a single operating system. The initiation of the boot operation changes the
state from inactive to active.
Possible run-states of an inactive nPartition are listed below.
An nPartition can be in this run-state after it has been created, or after it
has been shut down.
DOWN
This run-state is shown when a boot is initiated on an nPartition. This nor-
mally results in the nPartition becoming active with a FWBOOT run-state.
ACTIVATING
This run-state is displayed while a shutdown/reboot of an nPartition is being
processed.
DEACTIVATING
This run-state is displayed while a reset of an nPartition is being processed.RESETTING
