Critical resource analysis is done to determine whether the deletion of the ports will cause the link
aggregate or a failover group to be a critical resource. If it becomes a critical resource, the delete
operation fails with an exit code of [EBUSY]. Information describing the interface as a critical
resource is displayed. To override this error, use the
-f option. However, when the interface is a
system critical resource, the
-f option has no effect.
Set APA Attributes to a Port or Link Aggregate Interface
nwmgr -s -A attr1=value1,attr2
=value2,attr3=value3...
{ -c lanport/aggregate_instance |
-I port/aggregate_instance }
-S apa [--sc]
This command updates the port/aggregate attribute to the value user specified. You can update
multiple attributes with one command invocation. Those attribute values that are valid will be set
for the link aggregate or APA port instance. Some attributes are only applicable to APA ports while
others may only be applicable to link aggregates.
For each attribute on which an error is reported, the APA
nwmgr --set displays the reason the
attribute cannot be set. See the Attributes section for the attributes compatible with the
set com-
mand.
You can set
fixed_mac and mac
for a link aggregate or failover group when the interface is in a
clear state; you cannot set these attributes on physical ports. The MAC address specified must be a
locally administered unicast MAC address. After the link aggregate or failover group is created, you
cannot change the
fixed_mac mode. Also, no new fixed MAC address is assigned.
After it is enabled, Fixed MAC mode remains enabled until you delete the link aggregate or failover
group.
When you enable
fixed_mac mode or specify a MAC address, they are saved as an administrative
mode and MAC address, and are applied to the link aggregates or failover groups when they are
created.
Save Global APA Attributes to APA Configuration Files
nwmgr -s -A attr1 =value1,attr2 =value2... --sa -S apa [--sc
]
This command writes the values of APA global attributes to the
/etc/rc.config.d/hp_apaconf
configuration file. Multiple attributes can be passed to the
same command.
When an attribute value is not valid, the attribute is not updated in the configuration file. Only
those that passed the validation will be updated.
The new value for a
global APA attribute overrides its previously defined value. However, the
new attribute value takes effect only after the system is rebooted. See the Attributes section for
information on the
global APA attributes.
Save all the current APA configuration to the APA configuration Files
nwmgr -s -A all --from cu --sa -S apa
This command saves all the settings made by the user to the APA configuration files. All current
APA port attribute values are saved to the /etc/rc.config.d/hp_apaportconf
file. The
current link aggregate configuration and the related link aggregate attribute values are saved to the
/etc/rc.config.d/hp_apaconf file. The current failover group configuration and the related
LAN MONITOR attribute values are saved to the /etc/lanmon/lanconfig.ascii
file.
The information saved to the configuration files allows the current APA system configuration to be
recreated after the system is rebooted.
View All APA Interfaces
nwmgr [-g] -S apa [-v]
This command displays all APA interfaces. Note that
-g is the default operation. The -v option
displays all APA interfaces and physical LAN interfaces that support APA.
The form without the verbose option displays a table, with one row for each interface that gets
listed.
