DESCRIPTION
The itutil command administers the InfiniBand adapters on this host and the InfiniBand fabric. For
each interface adapter it allows you to:
• Display and reset interface statistics.
• Display Reliable Connection information.
• Display InfiniBand fabric topology information.
• Reset the interface adapter.
• Download trace or performance firmware.
• Download specified firmware file onto the adapter.
• Displays current firmware version of HP Switch Blades (Applicable for Blade systems).
• Perform a linkloop-like packet send to check connectivity to an adapter.
Generally, the
itutil command takes one of the seven forms shown in the SYNOPSIS section:
/opt/rdma/bin/itutil
[-srcT][-i interface_name][-t transport_type]
Used for the various display options and to reset the statistics.
/opt/rdma/bin/itutil -d trace|notrace
interface_name
Downloads the trace or performance firmware onto the adapter.
/opt/rdma/bin/itutil -d file
fw_file interface_name spigot_id
Downloads specified firmware file onto the adapter. This option is required to explicitly update the
new firmware file onto the adpater.
/opt/rdma/bin/itutil -d switch_fw
interface_name spigot_id
Displays the current firmware version of HP blade switch by querying through the specified inter-
face and spigot.
/opt/rdma/bin/itutil [-n count] -l GID interface_name spigot_id
Sends an InfiniBand Management Datagram packet to the specified remote spigot/port (GID) from
the specified local adapter.
/opt/rdma/bin/itutil -R interface_name
Resets the interface adapter.
/opt/rdma/bin/itutil -x internface_name spigot_id get_speed
Displays the speed of the interface adapter.
For operations other than display and linkloop, you must have superuser privileges.
