The method of conflict resolution is explained in detail under the Conflict Resolution section.
When cluster device special files are not available, the
-q option returns with the following mes-
sage:
io_cdsf_config: Creation of cluster device special files in pro-
gress. Please try again after sometime.
This scenario can occur when the io_cdsf_config
tries to display the cluster device special
files when
iocdsfd is in the process of creating cluster device special files.
-s Displays current status of the cluster device special file daemon
iocdsfd. The message below
means the
iocdsfd daemon is up and running.
io_cdsf_config: Cluster device special daemon(iocdsfd) is stable.
The message below is displayed when quorum is not satisfied; and this message implies that the
iocdsfd daemon is not up on all nodes of the cluster.
io_cdsf_config: Not enough nodes in cDSF group to create cluster
device special files. Quorum unsatisfied.
In this case the user must run
cmsetdsfgroup [-n node_name][-n node_name]...
to create cluster device special files.
The message below is displayed when conflicts are detected:
io_cdsf_config: Conflicting device special files detected.
Resolve conflicts using the method mentioned in io_cdsf_config(1M)
manpage.
-h Displays the usage message.
-v Displays the version information.
DIAGNOSTICS
Conflict Resolution
When two or more nodes have different cluster device special files for the same shared disk device, the
iocdsfd daemon reports it as a conflict. In this case, the user should resolve the conflicts by removing
the conflicting cluster device special files on the respective nodes. The rm command (see rm(1M)) can be
used to remove a conflicting cluster device special file.
After the conflicts are cleared, user should run:
cmsetdsfgroup [-n node_name][
-n node_name]...:
(see cmsetdsfgroup(1M)). This will restart the process of cluster device special file creation.
Display Conflicts
The conflicting cluster device special files can be displayed by using
io_cdsf_config -c.
Resolve Conflicts
Remove conflicting cluster device special files using
rm on the respective device special files.
rm <cluster device special file>
WARNINGS
io_redirect_dsf command
The
io_redirect_dsf command may fail to redirect persistent dsf’s if there is a corresponding cluster
device special file (cDSF) present. In this case the user must manually remove the cDSFs mapping to the
particular persistent dsf before using the io_redirect_dsf command.
Integrity Virtual machine (IVM) Clusters
The cDSF creation is not supported on clusters with a mixture of IVM Virtual I/O (VIO) guests and physi-
cal nodes. Please note that this restriction applies only for clusters with a mixture of VIO guests and phy-
sical nodes. The CDSFs are created successfully on clusters with Accelerated Virtual I/O (AVIO) guests
and physical nodes.
