DESCRIPTION
The
ignite client command is used to report client information and manage client activities. The
ignite client command supports the following minor modes of operation:
list Lists clients registered with Ignite-UX server. Options are available to list varying lev-
els of detail and filter clients listed.
modify Modifies attributes of a client.
install Configure client to install HP-UX. Client must already be booted into the install
environment, in contact with this Ignite-UX server and waiting for server instructions.
add Create client directory and bootptab entry for specified client. After client has been
added, the Ignite-UX server will be configured to network boot the client.
control When client has been booted into the install environment and is in contact with this
Ignite-UX server, the control minor mode allows remote control of client to start an
install, access the recovery shell, reboot or halt the client. Starting install or accessing
the recovery shell are only available before an install has started on the client. Reboot
or halt instructions can be used at any time while the client is in contact with the
Ignite-UX server.
remove Remove stored information about the specified client from the Ignite-UX server. The
client’s directory in /var/opt/ignite/clients will be removed as well as any
bootptab entry configured for the client.
set_status
Manages status files for client jobs. This cannot be used to manipulate install,or
recovery job status. It is to be used for jobs outside direct control of Ignite-UX.
Options
ignite client recognizes the following options:
-a attribute =value
Used to specify attributes for operation.
The modify minor mode supports setting one attribute, client_name. Setting this value allows
you to change the display name of an Ignite-UX client.
The
add minor mode supports several attributes for specifying information about the client to
add.
