NAME
evfsrun - allow superuser to access encrypted files on behalf of a regular user
SYNOPSIS
evfsrun -u user cmd param ...
DESCRIPTION
The
evfsrun command allows superusers to enter a regular user’s secure session to execute certain
applications/command, thus provides access to encrypted files owned by that user.
The
evfsrun command can only be executed by superusers. This command also requires the regular
user’s stored passphrase. See evfspkey (1).
Caution: Stored passphrases provide convenience, but they are security risks.
The
evfsrun command requires the optional HP-UX Encrypted Volume and File System (EVFS)
software.
Options
evfsrun recognizes the following option and parameters:
-u user The name of the user, with whom the command has to be run. The user should have a
stored passphrase available. This stored passphrase will be used to access user’s keys.
cmd The command to be executed by
evfsrun.
param ... Parameter(s) or option(s) that are passed to the cmd command.
RETURN VALUE
The value of the HP-UX command executed by
evfsrun will be returned.
