NAME

drd unrehost - remove the system information ﬁle, EFI/HPUX/SYSINFO.TXT, from the EFI partition of a

disk previously speciﬁed as the target of a "drd rehost" command, and optionally preserve a copy of it in a

ﬁle on the booted system.

DESCRIPTION

The

drd unrehost command removes EFI/HPUX/SYSINFO.TXT

, and optionally preserves a copy of

it in a ﬁle on the booted system.

A system administrator can execute the

drd unrehost

command after having previously issued the

drd rehost command, specifying the same target, if the disk should not be rehosted.

The format of the

sysinfo ﬁle is deﬁned in sysinfo (4). To determine the most recent patch that supplies

sysinfo (4), please consult the DRD web site,

Options

drd rehost

recognizes the following options:

-? Displays the usage message.

-p Sets preview mode.

-f Speciﬁes the ﬁle to which the EFI/HPUX/SYSINFO.TXT

is to be copied. If not speciﬁed, the ﬁle

is not copied.

-q Decreases the verbosity level by one each time it is speciﬁed. For example,

-qq will reduce the

verbosity from the default value of 4 to 2. If both

-x verbosity=5 and -qqq are included on

the command line, the effective verbosity is 2. The minimum verbosity level is 0. (See also the

-x verbosity option).

-v Increases the verbosity level by one each time it is speciﬁed. For example,

-v will increase the

effective verbosity from the default value of 4 to 5. If both

-x verbosity=1 and

-vv are

included on the command line, the effective verbosity is 3. The maximum verbosity level is 5.

-x -? Displays the list of possible -x (extended) options.

-x option=value

Sets the extended option to a value. See Extended -x Options deﬁnitions below.

-X option_file

Gets the extended options from a ﬁle.

-t device_special_file

Speciﬁes the block device special ﬁle of a single writable physical disk from whose EFI partition

the ﬁle EFI/HPUX/SYSINFO.TXT is to be removed. If no target is speciﬁed, the inactive sys-

tem image is used as a target.

Extended -x Options

drd rehost recognizes the following -x (extended) options:

-x logfile=/var/opt/drd/drd.log

Usage: Basic

This is the path to the log ﬁle for this command. Each time DRD is run, this ﬁle will grow larger.

This can be changed, for example, to a month-speciﬁc location for easier archiving, off-host backup,

and rotation.

-x log_verbosity=4

Usage: Basic

Speciﬁes the level of message verbosity in the log ﬁle (See also -x verbosity). Legal values are:

0 Only ERROR messages and the starting/ending BANNER messages.

1 Adds WARNING messages.

2 Adds NOTE messages.

3 Adds INFO messages (informational messages preceded by the * character).

Adds very-verbose INFO messages. -x sysinfo_file= Usage: Basic This is the file containing system information attributes, such as hostname and IP address, that is copied to the EFI partition by the drd rehost command and consequently applied by auto_parms (1M) when the rehosted image is booted. The file can be removed from the EFI partition and optionally copied back to the file system with the drd unrehost command.
