message is an error message when given path is invalid or inaccessible.

EXTERNAL INFLUENCES
Environment Variables
LANG determines the language in which messages are displayed.
If
LANG is not specified or is null, it defaults to "C" (see lang(5)).
If any internationalization variable contains an invalid setting, all internationalization variables default
to "C" (see environ (5)).
RETURN VALUE
Upon completion,
diskowner returns one of the following values:
0 The path is not owned (the owner is
none).
1 The path is already owned by a subsystem.
2 The path does not exist.
3 Invalid options or library version incompatible.
4 The path cannot be opened due to an I/O error.
5 The path cannot be opened due to insufficient permissions.
6 The path format is invalid.
EXAMPLES
Display the owner of a disk path:
diskowner /dev/disk/disk2
Display the owner of a logical volume in compact output:
diskowner -F /dev/vg00/lvol1
Display all the owners of a disk path:
diskowner -A /dev/disk/disk3
Display all the owners of a logical volume in compact output:
diskowner -A -F /dev/vg00/lvol2
