HP 9000 system container can be created using:
$ srp -add <srp_name> -t hp9000sys
HP 9000 classic container can be created using:
$ srp -add <srp_name> -t hp9000cl
If is recommended to continue using IPv4 address if HP 9000 system was configured with IPv4 address.
Verifying an already configured container:
$ srp -list <srp_name> -v | more
Modifying the configuration parameters:
$ srp -replace <srp_name>
Deleting partially configured container (if there are errors):
$ srp -delete <srp_name> delete_changes_ok=yes
Configuring Host Name
By default, container name is used as node name and host name for the HP 9000 Containers. For legacy
environments host name need to be limited to 8 characters. To change host name,
Change
HOSTNAME parameter in /var/hpsrp/<srp_name> /etc/rc.config.d/netconf
.
Update entries in
/etc/hosts and in /var/hpsrp/<srp_name> /etc/hosts.
Add host name in
/var/hpsrp/<srp_name> /etc/mail/sendmail.cw
(for system model) or
/etc/mail/sendmail.cw
(for classic model).
Configure applications with the new host name, if applicable.
Configuring IP Address
Configure applications inside the HP 9000 container to listen to the container IP address.
Configuring Devices
Provision the devices on the HP-UX 11I v3 host system.
To make a device visible inside an HP 9000 system container:
$ srp -add <srp_name> -tune -device=<device_path>
No additional configuration needed for HP 9000 classic container.
Configuring NFS and AUTOFS Clients
For system container NFS and AUTOFS configuration is retained under
/etc/fstab,
/etc/auto_master or
/etc/auto.direct.
For classic container, configure the mount point and perform mount on the host. Make the mount point
visible inside the container.
$ /opt/HP9000-Containers/bin/hp9000_link_dir
<directory> <srp_name>
Configuring VxFS Mount Points
For system container:
Configure the mount on the native host with mount point inside container file system.
For classic container:
Configure the mount point on the host system, mount and make it visible inside the container using
the
hp9000_link_dir tool.
Configuring Trusted Users (Classic Model only)
Check
/tcb/files/auth on the HP-UX 11i v3 system and check if the trusted mode users have been
merged from <hp9000_root>/tcb.
Check
/var/opt/HP9000-Containers/logs/migrated_users for UID changes. Make
corresponding changes in /tcb/files/auth.
Enable auditing using SMH (smh(1M)), if needed.
